If you are missing one tooth or multiple teeth, dental implants may be perfect for you. Implants require a certain amount of bone in order to anchor it properly, then a titanium implant is surgically placed. The site is then given time to heal and let the bone fuse to the implant. This part of the procedure is done by an oral surgeon. After the implant is fused to the bone it is now ready to have a crown placed over the top, this procedure takes 2 appointments at our office. Implants are a more conservative route to take than a fixed dental bridge, which requires the teeth on either side of the space to be disturbed.
